Porsche 911 GT3 Cup

Only 265 units of the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup which was developed in Weissach will be built on Porsche’s production line in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen will be build. The 911 GT3 will participate in the 2008 motorsport season such as at the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup race, Porsche Carrera Cups and GT3 Cup Challenges.

Compared to last year’s model, the most significant modification made to the new Porsche 911 is the new rear end where better heat dissipation made possible by the rear air venting slits.
The new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is based on the the street-legal GT3 which is powered by a 3.6-liter 6-cylinder boxer engine that produces 42o bhp (20 hp more than the previous model). The engine is mated to the sequential 6-speed transmission with interruption of engine power enables the driver to shift up under full throttle without disengaging the clutch.

The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is weighted at 1,150 kg in race trim thus its has a power-to-weight ratio of 2.7 kg per horsepower.
