Mercedes-Benz Vision GLK FREESIDE
After all the spy photos and video leaks from the sets of ‘Sex and the City,’ Mercedes has finally released the first official images and press release on the Vision GLK FREESIDE. The compact SUV, which will compete with the BMW X3 and the upcoming Audi Q5, will make its world debut at the 2008 North American International Auto Show later this month.
The Mercedes-Benz Vision GLK FREESIDE is powered by a 2.2L 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that produces 168 horsepower. The engine is matted with a 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission and the new 4MATIC all-wheel drive. The 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system has been optimized to allow for a better fuel-economy with minimal vibration and noise levels.
So far Mercedes will be showing the car as a concept with the production model slated for fall 2008 for Europe and January 2009 for the U.S.
