Pimped Hummer World Run

The HUMMER World Run is the brainchild of GeigerCars, Europe's biggest HUMMER dealer and one of the biggest Hummer tuner/customizers you'll find in any country. If the name rings a bell, you probably remember their recent contribution to the American law enforcement community -- a 700-horsepower H2 that went to an unnamed County Sheriff in Texas.

Said to be the first international meet for Hummer owners, the two-day extravaganza is scheduled for October 7-8, during which over 150 HUMMERs and mil-spec HMMWVs will be on display and testing their mettle on an off-road course designed to showcase their capabilities. As of press time, we were not able to find out if the course has been altered to include a simulated US fast-food drive-thru lane complete with poles. Clearly, that would make it the most challenging HUMMER test course of all time...
Regular visitors to the festival will be able to test drive the HUMMER range, be eligible to win a 1-year HUMMER lease, and go for rides in GeigerCars' 10-meter-long H2 limousine -- allowing them to experience what it's like to go to to an American prom, albeit with better beer. It is Germany, after all.

HUMMER WORLD RUN is the name of the world's first international meet for owners of the American SUV, presented by GeigerCars.de, Europe largest HUMMER dealer, in Zorneding near Munich.

The festival, to which more than 150 Hummer and HMMWV vehicles from around the world are expected, features an extensive and highly entertaining program. A demanding off-road course lets HUMMER owners and visitors experience the exceptional off-road capabilities of the American 4x4. The HUMMER WORLD RUN Trophy tests participants' mettle with and without their vehicles.
Numerous other attractions await the visitors such as free test drives with various HUMMER models and rides in the 10-meter long HUMMER H2 stretch limo from GeigerCars.de. The festival tent features an evening program with live entertainment on Saturday and on Sunday a vehicle parade of participants will live up to its motto: "The HUMMER conquers Munich." The world of the Jochen-Schweizer.de experience offers loads of action both days as do the off-road courses set up by KTM and Polaris that give visitors the chance to try out the latest ATV's.

Families visiting the HUMMER meet also find lots of entertaining things to do: Admission for children under 16 is free. The HUMMER kids program features a moonwalk as well as rides on kids ATV's.

Here is some interesting facts about Hummer:
A Hummer is classified as a Class 3 truck, but it does not require a special license to drive it.
All Hummer dealers are required (as a condition to holding the franchise) to organize 4 Hummer off-road events per year!
While a Hummer is equipped to drive through water up to 30 inches deep, it's not an amphibious vehicle, or a submarine, nor can it float. In fact, it is designed to take on water in order to avoid floating, all the while maintaining traction underneath.
Today Hummer has become so popular in civil using, that is why even Hummer limo is produced for different reasons or the occasions, such as wedding, baptismal, birthday, business trip, trip with loved ones, anniversary, prom night.
